Occoquan Historical Society Lecture on the Suffragists - Thursday, May 9th

The next installment in the Occoquan Historical Society's bi-monthly lecture series is on Thursday, May 9, Kathleen Pablo will speak on the suffragists imprisoned at the Occoquan Workhouse for their attempts to secure women the right to vote. The lecture will take place outdoors (weather permitting) at 6:30 p.m. at the Secret Garden Cafe (404 Mill Street). Menu food and drink items will be available for purchase during the lecture. Visit Occoquan on May 9th, learned about some of the important historical events in our area, and enjoy some great food and drink at one of Occoquan's new restaurants.

River Fest 2013 Events in Occoquan;

Wood carving demonstrations, Music, Face Painting, History Tour, Outdoor Art and the famous Ghost Tours

There will be free boat rides between the Town of Occoquan and the Occoquan Regional Park on 'Miss Rivershore'.

Events at the Occoquan Regional Park include:
John Smith Discovery Barge, Childrens activities, Stream Science with GMU, History Paddle with the Occoquan Mayor, Volksmarch event, and Nature hike.

Haunted Occoquan Tours

A walking tour of Occoquan's history and hauntings!

Beginning March 1, 2013, tours will be offered:
Wednesday thru Saturday at 8:00 pm and Saturday at 4:00 pm *****
Adults $12
Children $6 (6-12)
Children 5 and Under Free

Tours start at the Visitors Center
200 Mill Street, Occoquan, VA 22125

We request that you make your reservations in advance , so we can ensure that a tour guide is available. Please give us at least 2 hours advance notice for same day tours.

This is family-friendly walking tour last 1 to 1.5 hours. Please wear comfortable shoes. Most of the Town is ADA compliant.
